Most production processes require incoming inspection of raw materials to assure quality. A similar step occurs at the outlet where most product streams must be tested for quality assurance. Most processes uses water and/or air as a carrier for mass or energy and must themselves be qualified at the source and at each effluent point. At the process center is a reactor or mixer where reagents are converted to the final product within a range of compositions and physical properties that must be monitored and, often, controlled. |
